The 2018 is a crucial year for the music indie music industry because many talented bands released music jewelries that marked a tendency on the 2008 aka 10 years ago.

The Echo Music team discuss this time about 10 essential albums that marked a tendency on the indie music 10 years ago and now.

1. The Helio Sequence Keep Your Eyes Ahead

This album of this duo from Oregon marked a tendency on the indie music scene with their single that is the album titled “Keep Your Eyes Ahead”

Another songs like a”You Can Come To Me” makes this album as one of the essentials of 2018.

Brandon Summers has one of those special voices in the music that makes this album one of the essentials of 2008.

2. Lykke Li – Youth Novels

The album debut of this Sweden girl explored melodic sounds in songs like “Melodies & Desires”, and an interesting mixture of sounds on “I’m Good, I’m Gone” or “Breaking It Up” featuring many remixes made by artists as Black Kids, for example.

3. Black Kids- Partie Traumatic

Incredible album debut of this band from Florida, Partie Traumatic has a catchy essence on each song of the album; with songs as “I’m Not Going To Teach Your Boyfriend How To Dance With You” or “Love Me Already” recently the Black Kids released last year their second album titled “Rookie” after of 9 years of hiatus.

4. Cut Copy. In Ghost Colours

In Ghost Colours is one of the most famous albums of Cut Copy. Cut Copy marked a tendency on the electro music with catchy songs like “Hearts On Fire” “Lights & Music” “Far Away”

5. Glasvegas – Glasvegas

The latest band the Echo Music interviewed : Glasvegas released their album debut 10 years ago, with powerful songs and lyrics like “Geraldine”, “Daddy’s Gone” or “Lonesome Swan”. You can check out their latest interview in this link:

Glasvegas is working on their new album and they’re going to release a special boxset celebrating the release of their album debut titled Glasvegas

6. Santigold- Santogold.

One of our favorite albums of the 2008, Santogold marked a huge tendency for woman on the music industry in the year 2008, songs like “You’ll Find A Way” or “Say Aha” were hits on the year 2008.

7. Friendly Fires.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the debut of Friendly Fires, actually this English band will release a new album after of an hiatus of 7 years. This album was nominated to the Mercury Prize of that year. Songs like the singles as “Paris” or “Lovesick” are ones of the essentials of this album.

8. Hot Chip. Made In The Dark.

Incredible electro album from this English band. Made In The Dark brought us great memories of the 2008, songs like hits “Ready For The Floor” or “One Pure Thought” are essential songs of that year.

9. Foals. Antidotes.

The album debut of this English band were played in pubs and clubs and everywhere. The album artwork was amazing and some of the hits you can find on this album are “Cassius”, “Electric Bloom” and “Ballons”. A MUST To hear.

10. Fleet Foxes- Fleet Foxes.

Extraordinary debut of this folk band from Seattle, US. Each song on the album creates a perfect atmosphere to hear it on these summer rainy days. Songs like “Sun It Rises”, “Ragged Wood” and “Oliver James” makes this album an essential of the 2008.
